What's in my bag?

So there are a lot of videos on YouTube that are "What's in my purse" or "What's in my bag" and I thought it would be fun to write a blog post about it. So I have just a regular type of bag I got at Old Navy it has a long  strap and it's all cotton cloth. It's a summer bag and it has a black and white (and some gray) floral print on it. It wasn't that expensive and I think it was like 12 dollars or something. Anyway, here is what I keep in my bag:
1. My phone (Basically that's in every one's bag.)
2. A Bath and Body Works Sweet Pea hand lotion (I just keep in in there in case my skin feels dry)
3. A Sephora mirror
4. A little bag of makeup which has- chap stick, lip gloss, blush, and lip shine
5. A bottle of water
6. My wallet
7. My retainer case (yes I wear a retainer)
8. some hair bands
And that's it! Leave a comment saying what's in your bag!

Brushes

Makeup brushes are the tools of the makeup artist. It is literally like art on your face. ;) Here are the most used brushes and the most popular:
1. Foundation Brush. As it's name implies, it is used to put on foundation. I don't use foundation because I like to have a more natural look and I just don't really like to use foundation. I have a foundation brush but I use it to apply masks instead of foundation.
2. Blush. Again it's name implies that you use it to apply blush.
3. Eyeshadow- This brush is the one I use the most out of all my brushes. I love this brush because I use it to blend the color.
4. Kabuki- A kabuki brush is a short little brush that has a really big bristles. It's like a shorter blush brush with a bigger top.
5. Eyebrow brush- This brush is to shape your eyebrows

Must have make up in a makeup collection

If you are staring your makeup collection or just want to expand it, here are some must haves. The first must have for your makeup collection is:
1.For eyes: I have a medium size eye shadow pallet from elf (which is not that expensive and pretty reasonable.) The colors in it aren't that crazy like hot pink or neon green. It has colors that could be used everyday. The second thing that is in every girl's makeup bag is mascara. Mascara is great for making your eyes pop. You can get a good mascara from CVS or a drug store for about 6 or 7 dollars. *Important tip about mascara! After you dip your mascara wand in the bottle, take a paper towel and wipe the brush so you get rid of excess mascara. It helps prevent clumps in your eyelashes. Also if you get a eyelash comb and comb your eyelashes, it takes the clumps out. The final must have for eyes is eyeliner. There are 4 different types of liners: liquid, pencil, felt tip, and crayon. I use a pencil but most people use liquid because it's easier to use. A nice brown, dark blue, and black are good liner colors. The trick to using liner is not to go to heavy. It looks bad when you have too much liner. If you want a subtle look with a little touch of liner, take your liner and line your lower lash line on the outer corners of your eyes. It gives a nice effect.
2. For lips: Chap stick. I use chap stick as the base for some lipsticks and glosses. Healthy lips are hydrated lips! =) (USE A CHAP STICK THAT HAS SPF!) There aren't a ton of things you need for your lips. Just a light pink lipstick and maybe some gloss or lip shine.
3. For face: Concealer. Concealer is kind of the magic wand of the girl world. It hides imperfections and gives a flawless effect. The places where concealer is used the most is on acne, under the eyes where dark circles are, and around the nose (if you get redness around your nose like some people do). When you pick a concealer, pick one that doesn't match your exact skin tone. You pick one that is slightly lighter then it. Picking a concealer is tricky but if you look long enough and hard enough, you'll find it =). The last thing that is a must have for the face is blush. A dusty rose color (which is a light pink) is usually used and preferred by many girls including me. The two most popular types of blushes are: Powder (which is the most common) and mouse (which is what I use.) Mouse stays on better and it's just what I prefer but you can use what ever type you want. *NOTE: These products are just what are in the makeup bags of people I know and my self. You do not have to go out and buy all the products listed.

How to get rid of dark circles

I know this is a problem for a lot of people and it is a problem for me too. My dark circles are bad and it bothers me a lot. I usually use a cream based concealer to hide them and it usually does the job. But if you want to make them go away (not completely but be less noticeable without makeup) than this tip will really help. I take a face towel and make it damp. Then I put it in the freezer for about an hour to two hours. After I take it out of the freezer, I put it on my eyes and keep it there for about 20-30 minutes. This tip really works and is a great inexpensive way to get rid of dark circles. Another way you can reduce dark circles is to get more sleep. If you are stressed and don't get enough sleep, it causes you to get very dark circles. Finally, one of the most simple ways to reduce dark circles, is to drink a lot of water. I know I have said this in previous blog posts, but it really is the simplest way to help your body.

Skin Care- The truth (part 2)

here are the remedies that I said I would list in my last post.

1.( For red irritated skin)- I know how crazy this sounds but it works. Trust me I've used it! Take some all natural yogurt in a bowl. (vanilla. I use Chobani Greek Yogurt. It's nice and thick) Then using a foundation brush dip it in the bowl of yogurt and spread it all on your face. So pretty much an edible mask. =)  Wait 15- 20 minutes and then wash it off. Your skin will feel really good and smooth after you do this. It also feels amazing. If you want more information on how to make a mask go to bubzbeauty channel on YouTube and look up her tutorial. It's called- healthy skin and hair trick

2. OK this one is simple- WATER! Just drink a lot of water. Hydrated skin is healthy skin. =)

3. Another edible face mask is oatmeal. You take a fist full of oatmeal, run water over your fist so that the water gets in the spaces. When you open your fist, the oatmeal should be soft and not rough. The just rub the oatmeal over your face. It's a messy facial so i suggest doing it where you won't make a huge mess. After wash away with lukewarm water.

4. There is a facial kit that I have been using for a while that I really like. Its a DHC kit and it includes a facial milk, acne toner, acne wash, and spot treatment. The spot treatment is for if there is like on huge zit  you just use it on that.

Theses are the skin remedies that I use. Till next time!

Skin Care- The truth

So I know a lot of people who tell me "I hate my skin!" or "Why does my skin breakout so much?" Well I have the truth about skin care. Every person's skin is different. There are people who have very oily skin, people with dry skin, people with dry patches and oily spots. For example, when I was in the fifth grade, my hair was a mess. It was pretty gross and I cringe every time I think about it. So since my hair was dirty, the oils from my hair would go onto my face because I would have my hair in my face. Because my hair was in my face I got breakouts around my forehead and in my T zone. (In case you don't know what the T zone is it's the area on your nose, forehead, and on your cheeks. It forms a T.) But after I realized that my hair was the cause of my bad skin, I took better care of my hair and my skin cleared up after using some products which I will list in a minute. So if you have bad acne then I suggest thinking of why you get breakouts. Here are some reasons:

1. you have your hair in your face. (Your hair doesn't even have to be dirty to give you a breakout! I suggest a headband)
2. Hormones. If you are at that age where you go through puberty, of course you will get some zits! Everyone does at one point.)
3. You touch your face a lot. You have oils on your hands and when you touch your face you get them on your skin and they clog your pores.
4. You don't wash your face every day.

Those are some of the reasons why your skin might breakout. But luckily I know some remedies for bad skin that aren't that expensive!

I will list them in my next blog post!

Makeup- the truth

So some girls say that makeup makes girls superficial. Well actually, most girls just want to wear makeup to feel pretty and to feel good about themselves. They are insecure about how they look so they try and hide imperfections. I won't lie and say that I don't use makeup or say that I don't feel insecure sometimes... I do. Who doesn't? No ones perfect. But if you do want to wear makeup, don't plaster it all over your face. I use concealer to hide my dark circles and some eye shadow (not really dark or bright colors). I use some light champagne eyeshadow to give a nice natural look and some light lipgloss. It's a nice summer look which is great and natural. Makeup is supposed to enhance your natural beauty, not cover it up! Hope you enjoyed my first blog post!
