Butterfly Project

So I haven't blogged in FOREVER. The truth is that no one really follows this blog so I figured why bother and I also kind of forgot... But there has been a lot of things going on in my personal life that was not good at all. Anyways, I decided for my first real blog back (does that make sense?) I would talk about the butterfly project. Now the butterfly project is something that is something very amazing and I really wanted to tell more people about it. (If any one happens across this blog which I doubt.) So here are the rules about the butterfly project.

1. When you feel like you want to cut, take a marker, pen, or sharpies and draw a butterfly on your arm or hand.
2. Name the butterfly after a loved one, or someone that really wants you to get better.
3. You must let the butterfly fade naturally. NO scrubbing it off.
4. If you cut before the butterfly is gone, you’ve killed it. If you dont cut, it lives.
5. If you have more than one butterfly, cutting kills all of them.
6. Another person may draw them on you. These butterflies are extra special. Take good care of them.
7. Even if you don’t cut, feel free to draw a butterfly anyways, to show your support. If you do this, name it after someone you know that cuts or is suffering right now, and tell them. It could help.
You never know whos hurting.

I first heard about it when a friend of mine had a butterfly on her wrist and I asked her what it was for. She said that is was for someone she knew who was really depressed and she did it for them. (The butterfly can be for depression too I guess.)  So I just wanted to raise awareness for this and if you know someone who is cutting or is depressed please try to help them. They need you more then they think they do.
